Mexico’s pension fund trading organization Amafore has added its first fund from US asset manager PineBridge Investments to its list of approved products in which Afores pension fund managers nationwide can invest.
In the group’s latest monthly report updated on Thursday, the trading body also gave the green light to new strategies from Vanguard and GAM, including unique ETFs from First Trust, Global X, BlackRock and JP Morgan.
PineBridge had $ 133 billion in assets under management as of March 31, of which approximately $ 79 billion was focused on bond strategies,
Afores now have access to 126 international mutual funds from 33 asset managers and 365 ETFs from 20 managers, according to the latest report.
Amafore’s Specialized Analysis Center (CAE) publishes its list of approved funds and managers on a monthly basis. The unit was tasked with carrying out due diligence and mutual fund research processes based on criteria established by Mexico’s pension fund regulator, Consar.
