The Nintendo Switch OLED model is the latest take on Nintendo’s hugely popular hybrid console, and as is the case with all hot consoles like the PS5 and Xbox, it’s also hard to find this year.
However, it is not impossible. If you’re hoping to give the OLED Switch as a gift for Christmas, or just want to buy one for yourself, your best bet is to get yourself a bundle. This is not ideal, as you may need to get a set or accessory that you don’t really want or need, but the alternative is to pay for scalpers and for the love Mario, don’t do that.

Unlike the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, sometimes you may come across OLED Switch models in stock in physical stores. I was able to pick one up from the floor of my local Walmart, for example.
What is the difference between an OLED switch and a regular switch?
In addition to being available in a new white version, the OLED Switch has an OLED screen. Imagine that! With the OLED display, you get much more vibrant colors than a regular LED display, and the contrast and blacks are unparalleled. The difference is really striking compared to a regular Switch. However, the screen requires more battery, so the battery life is closer to that of the original Nintendo Switch model. You can expect around 3.5 hours of gameplay with the Switch OLED model versus up to 9 hours with the Switch model offered in the Mario Kart 8 Black Friday bundle, for example.
The OLED Switch also includes an updated docking station, one with an Ethernet adapter, so you can tune in to play online.

The MSRP for the OLED Switch is $ 349.99, compared to $ 299.99 for the regular Switch and $ 199.99 for the Nintendo Switch Lite.
