Watch this 2013 Tesla Model S explode with Elon Musk doll inside

This story comes to us from Finland, where a 2013 Tesla Model S owner – Tuomas Katainen – decided to blow his car up in spectacular fashion.

But the idea is not to entertain us, but it seems like a bold expression of disappointment.

According to the video (English subtitles are available), after a period of pleasant experience with the car, several error codes appeared in the dashboard and a tow truck was required to bring the car to a center. Tesla service.

After a month, the owner received information from Tesla that the car cannot be repaired without replacing the battery, which will cost € 20,000 ($ 22,480). Remember that the car is about 8 years old, so there is no longer any warranty.

We don’t know the full story, but there was concern that this might not be the only thing to fix / replace so the cost could be even higher.

The unfortunate owner decided to blow up the car in an old quarry using 30 kg of dynamite. The team also put inside the doll of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, which was thrown from a helicopter.

Well, hardly a few parts were left of the car, but at least the owner seems to be happy with the result, even more than driving it. He noted that he was probably the first to detonate a Tesla.

Either way, whatever the story, concerns about the cost of maintaining electric vehicles after the warranty period is real. Especially in the case of the Tesla brand, which is trying to have a closed ecosystem, so there isn’t a lot of opportunity for third-party services.

We have already seen stories of high repair costs / battery replacement costs. Interestingly, Tesla repair specialists love Rich reconstructions several times reported difficulties and more recently converted a Tesla Model S to ICE instead (it was a fun project).

Hats off to Teppo !!!
